Principal, Linda M Woo Consulting

Linda is a consultant specialising in gambling, consumer and not-for-profit policy, regulation and practice.

She retired from the Queensland Public Service in 2017 and has extensive experience in senior executive roles providing legislative and strategic policy advice to Ministers and chief executives; evidence to parliamentary committees and inquiries. Linda has developed, advised and led major initiatives and reforms in gambling regulatory policy and practice in Queensland and contributed to national gambling reforms through various senior official working groups.

Linda also has extensive experience in operational regulatory roles including consumer affairs, fair trading, not-for-profit, gambling and liquor. In relation to gambling, she had responsibility for licensing of operators, venues, staff and associates, gambling approvals (rules, control systems and products) and technical evaluations.

She was a long-standing member of Queensland’s Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee and Gambling Research Australia. Linda was also a member of the Commonwealth’s Expert Advisory Panel to the Australian Gambling Research Centre. She is a member of the National Association for Gambling Studies and the International Think Tank on Gambling Research, Policy and Practice.

Linda holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws.
