Peter ter Weeme

GM, Safer Gambling, The Star Entertainment Group

As GM, Safer Gambling, Peter is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of The Star’s enhanced Safer Gambling strategy. 

Prior to joining The Star in June 2023, Peter was the Chief Social Purpose Officer & Vice President Player Experience at the British Columbia Lottery Corporation where, amongst his responsibilities for marketing, communications, sustainability and stakeholder relations, he oversaw safer gambling. 

With an MBA specializing in environmental management, he has founded and grown two successful consultancies and previously led the marketing and communications at Mountain Equipment Company, a Canadian retail leader in social and environmental responsibility. 

Peter’s professional experience spans the world of corporate, government and non-profit clients in North America, Europe and Asia. He has lived and worked in Canada, the Netherlands, India and Australia where he has advised companies and organisations on a range of values-based issues. He has also developed various campaigns and initiatives focused on issues such as public health, climate action, environmental conservation, and diversity and inclusion.
