Lara Hayes
Lara commenced her career at the Australian Sports Commission in a research capacity before moving into a governance and integrity role. She established the Sporting Schools program and Local Sporting Champions program and was the lead advisor for the Commission during the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse.
Lara was seconded to the Sport Integrity Taskforce within the Commonwealth Department of Health to develop and implement the Government Response to the Wood Review. This led to the establishment of Sport integrity Australia. Since joining Sport Integrity Australia in 2020, Lara has been leading the development of the Australian Sports Wagering Scheme, the ratification of the Council of Europe’s Macolin Convention and the establishment of Commonwealth Match-fixing Offences.
Lara worked with Sport England in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympic Games and has worked with community organisations in South Africa as part of the Australia’s Sport for Development Aid Program. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Melbourne Business School.
